About
The Washington Science Fiction Association is the oldest science fiction club in the greater Washington D.C. area.
In 1989 WSFA Press was established in order to publish a book in honor of the Guest of Honor at its yearly SF convention. This tradition continued through 1992.
- 1989: The Father of Stones by Lucius Shepard
- 1990: Through Darkest Resnick With Gun and Camera by Mike Resnick
- 1991: The Edges of Things by Lewis Shiner
- 1992: Home By The Sea by Pat Cadigan
WSFA Press then went on a hiatus until 2005 when it resurfaced briefly to publish Future Washington, an anthology edited by Ernest Lilley, which speculated on possible futures for our capital city. After which, like Cthulhu in deepest R’lyeh, WSFA Press returned to its slumbers.
Then in 2009, WSFA Press reawakened to its mission, fulfilling its original purpose of honoring the Guests of Honor of Capclave, publishing three books in two years (so far) in a bid to continuing the tradition.
- 2009: Reincarnations by Harry Turtledove
- 2010: Fire Watch by Connie Willis
- 2010: The Three Quests of the Wizard Sarnod by Jeff VanderMeer
